Denean Perry
Not a day goes by that my entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t kick in. Just ask my husband or one of my three sisters. I’ve "invented" everything from a Rolling Scones breakfast delivery service, to a home gas delivery service, and even an edible pencil. I’ve wanted to drive a beer truck and become a chef. To be honest, there’s really not one job I've heard of that I wouldn’t enjoy trying.
You might be surprised to hear that I've yet to invent anything and that my jobs have been limited to more traditional professions. If I'm honest, I have to blame my family and friends for squashing my entrepreneurial spirit when they remind me that I don't know how to cook, that I don't know a thing about gasoline, or that I would have to get up really early every morning to bake and deliver 100 scones to make $100. That's a lot of scones.
Fortunately, for them and their mental sanity, three years ago I combined my desire to "do my own thing" with my 25 years of experience in the hotel and event planning industry and started Denean Perry Events.
I've been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work in most aspects of the hospitality industry. My passion for the industry started with my job at Six Flags where the sounds, smells, and fun of a family amusement park got me hooked. My dad always wanted us to open a hotel together (yet another entrepreneurial vision missed!). So I decided to give the hotel industry a try and became a general manager for a national hotel chain. Later, I was honored to work for a wonderful couple who gave
me the opportunity to manage a beautiful resort off the coast of Honduras. It's an experience
I will never forget.
While I really enjoyed the hotel industry, the job that changed my life, let me see the world, gave me
15 years of corporate event planning experience, and allowed me to meet some of the most amazing and talented people in the world, was with BMC Software. What an incredible journey!
By combining my hotel and corporate meeting planning experience, I’ve realized my entrepreneurial dream! Finally!

Working independently with Denean is a realization of a career dream.
I’m a native Texan, the product of an engineer and a nurse who instilled in my brothers and me the value of hard work in defining if a job is truly well done, the quest for learning, and the importance of relationships.
It’s not a shock (being a Texan and having brothers) that sports were a huge part of my childhood. From an early age, I’ve loved competition, teamwork, and leadership. I was a scholarship athlete and team captain both in high school and then in the ‘old’ Southwest Conference. Much to my Longhorn parents’ chagrin I didn’t go to Texas and led my brothers
to the nemesis of the University of Arkansas. Fayetteville is the home to incredible beauty, wonderful people, and of course, learning. Beyond classroom and life skills knowledge,
I learned a great deal from my sport. That while preparation doesn’t guarantee results; hard work always wins. And, how determination, discipline and enjoying the pursuit of excellence drives me.
One of my age group teammates connected me to my first business job -- I started my career
at IBM. This led to a terrific journey in technology. I’ve been privileged to lead and work with/for brilliant, motivated, and tough, but generous people. While I’ve held a myriad of marketing roles, a common thread is a focus on customer experience. I’ve traveled the globe and with a strong extended team delivered high impact programs and events.
I met Denean at BMC Software in the late ‘90’s and she continues to be the creative, innovative, hard-working, customer-focused, professional she’s always been. We share a passion of working hard to discover what is needed and preparing so that the event exceeds expectations.
